Dhaka – Dhaka Abahani Limited returned to winning track in the season’s curtain raiser soccer meet, the KFC Independence Cup
Football Tournament, beating Team BJMC by goals in their 2nd Group B match at the floodlit Bangabandhu National Stadium here Saturday evening.The popular sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani, which dropped important point with mediocre Soccer Club, Feni in 1-1 affairs in the first appearance last Sunday, tasted their first win lavishly with a comfortable victory displaying an eye-catching speedy football.

With the day’s feat, Dhaka Abahani Ltd have secured four points from two matches while Team BJMC remained at three points playing three matches. Senegalese booter Kamara Sara and Nigerian player Sunday Chizoba struck two goals each English booter Lee Tuck netted the other goal for Abahani, which dominated the first half by 2-0 goals.Team BJMC was reduced to ten-man when their Nigerian midfielder Samson Iliasu got marching order by referee in the 51st minute for receiving the second yellow cards in the match for diving inside the Abahani box.Abahani took the lead in the 24th minute when left back Waly Faisal curved a free kick from the left flank and Senegalese forward Camara Sarra headed the ball and English forward Lee Tuck found the net by cool header (1-0) Abahani extended the lead in the 29th minute as the tall Senegalese forward Camara Sarra headed the ball home, off a curved corner by Lee Tuck (2-0) Senegalese forward Camara Sarra scored the third goal for Abahani in the 68th minute also by a header when an effort of his team mate Sunday Chizoba, came his way, fisted away by BJMC goalie Himel (3-0) Sunday Chizoba sounded the Abahani margin in the 84th minute as his curving shot kissed net from the top of box (4-0) Sunday Chizoba sealed the fate of the in the 89th minute scoring his 2nd goals (5-0)Earlier in the 9th minute, Abahani Ltd were close to score when Nigerian forward Sunday Chozoba’s left footed grounder was fisted to safety by diving BJMC goalie Arifuzzaman Himel.BJMC also had a chance to take the lead but Nigerian forward Eleta Kingsley’s shot was saved for corner by Abahani goalie Sultan Ahmed Sakil.In the 37th minute Eleta Kingsley missed another chance to reduce the margin.
