JCD president Rajib Hasan arrest: 2-day protest called


Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the youth front of the BNP, yesterday announced a two-day agitation programme across the country protesting the arrest of its president Razib Ahsan.
As part of the programme, the JCD will stage demonstrations and bring out processions at district, city and university levels today and thana, pourasabha and college levels tomorrow.
JCD vice-president Nazmul Ahsan announced the programme at a press conference at BNP headquarters a day after Razib Ahsan was arrested.Dumki thana police arrested Razib and five others from Lebukhali Ferry Ghat in Patuakhali at 11:00pm on Sunday in connection with drug and human trafficking.
Nazmul Ahsan alleged that the government arrested Razib in a planned way involving him drug related cases to suppress the misdeeds of Chhatra League, the youth front of the ruling Awami League and the anarchy prevailing in the country
“Police did not say anything to journalists who appeared during the arrest of Razib,” he claimed.
The JCD leader further alleged that police informed media at about 2:30am yesterday that Razib was arrested with yaba and bottles filed with colour water like substance to undermine the popularity of Chhatra Dal.
JCD vice president Mamun Billah, Iktiar Kabir, joint general secretary mehbub Masum Shanto, MU Chowdhury Faisal, Jasim Uddin, Ratan Bala, Saidur Rahman Royaland Abdus Sattar Patwari, among others, were present on the occasion. – Staff Reporter
