Khaleda mourns Fidel Castro’s demise


Dhaka – BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday expressed profound shock at the death of Cuba’s former president and great leader of its communist revolution Fidel Castro.
In a condolence message, she said Fidel Castro will forever be remembered by the people of Bangladesh due to his outstanding contributions to country’s Liberation War in 1971. UNB news agency reported
“He was a global voice for the rights of the deprived people of the world,” she observed.
The BNP chief also recalled Fidel Castro’s role in establishing the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
She prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to the people of Cuba and its government.
Meanwhile, in a message on her Twitter account, Khaleda said, “A genuine friend of people & heroic revolutionary has sadly died. But Fidel Castro will live forever in the annals of human history.”
