Dhaka  – Legends of Rupganj skipper Mushfiqur Rahim hammered 134 while Naeem Islam 103 runs in their 68-run victory against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the 4th Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) ground-4, Savar on Monday.Both the centurions — Mushfiqur and Naeem — shared a tremendous figure of 225 in 38.1 overs in the 3rd wicket which spurred their team collection to 305/5 in 50 overs. Man of the match Mushfiqur faced 134 balls hitting 14 boundaries and one six before he was caught by Abdullah Al Mamun off Abdur Razzak bowling to break the 3rd wicket at 238/3 in 41.1 overs starting from 13/2 in 3 overs.Naeem left the ground at 277/5 in 46.5 overs as he was caught by Imrul Kayes off Elias Sunny’s bowling, facing 118 balls firing seven boundaries and one six.Abdur Razzak and Shahadat Hossain bagged two wickets each for 52 and 63 runs. Elias Sunny took one for 63 runs.Chasing a mammoth target of 306 runs, Sheikh Jamal DC finished on 237 for all in 46.2 overs with Ziaur Rahman top-scoring 42 runs. Mahbubul Karim and Fazle Mahmud added 36 and 33 runs respectively.Naeem Islam, Mohammad Sharif, Asif Hasan and Mosharraf Hossain took two wickets each for 21, 31, 40 and 56 runs respectively. Mahmudul Hasan and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza took one wicket each for 18 and 50 runs.Dhaka Abahani vs Partex Sporting Club Nazmul Hossain Shanto hammered unbeaten 101 and shared 150 runs in the 3rd wicket stand with skipper Mhamudullah Riyad for Dhaka Abahani’s seven wickets victory against Partex Sporting Club at BKSP ground-3 in another league match.On their way to the 2nd win in the 12-team league, defending champions Abahani scored 237 for 3 in 38.3 overs, after restricting Partex SC to 234 for 7 in 50 overs.Player of the match Shanto faced 109 balls for his ton, including five boundaries and four over boundaries.Mahmudullah’s knock of 77 saw five boundaries and five over boundaries off 52 balls before being caught by List A debut Sajjad Hossain off Rajibul Islam bowling to depart from the 3rd wicket.Shanto and Mahmudullah paired for 7.3 overs in the century plus 3rd wicket stand to carry the team collection to 193/3 in 20.2 overs from 43/2 in 12.5 overs.After Mahmudullah, Shanto and Mosaddek Hossain did the remaining job contributing unbeaten 44 in 18.1 overs in the 4th wicket partnership. Sunzamul Islam and Taskin Ahmed took one wicket apiece for 30 and 46 runs.Prime DSC vs Brothers Union.Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club managed their 2nd successive win in the league beating Brothers Union by four wickets in another match at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Prime DSC chased down a target of 247 runs for 6 in 48.3 overs, replying to Brothers Union’s 246 for 9 in 50 overs.
Prime DSC opener Imtiaz Hossain was adjudged man of the match top-scoring 99 off 143 balls, firing nine boundaries and two sixes.Imtiaz stayed with Abdul Mazid in the opening pair to share 87 in 14.6 overs before he was caught by Nihaduzzaman off Mohammad Saddam bowling.Abdul Mazid scored 45off 40 balls, including six boundaries, while Marshall Ayub added 33 runs.Mohammad Saddam captured three wickets for 55 runs in 9.3 overs. Nihaduzzaman took two wickets for 50 runs while Nayeem Hasan one wicket for 21 runs.  Sent in to bat first, Brothers Union scored 246/9 in 50 overs where Junaid Siddique scored 87 off 115 balls, including five boundaries and one six.Junaid paired with Mizanur Rahman for a partnership of 113 in 25.4 overs in the opening stand.Mizanur scored 56 off 80 balls with four boundaries while Myshukur Rahaman was another notable scorer adding 47 runs.Arafat Sunny captured four wickets conceding 45 runs in 10 overs for Prime DSC. Mohammad Enamul Haque and Sharifullah took two wickets each for 45 and 47 runs.With this, Abahani secured the top slot in the points table by virtue of more run rate collecting four points from two games while Legends of Rupganj and Prime Doleshwar SC secured 2nd and 3rd slots respectively with same results.UNB news agency
