National Theatre Festival to start tomorrow

 “National Theatre Festival 2016″ will be starting from today with the slogan to uphold humanity as against extremism. Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation (BGTF), Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and Ministry of Cultural Affairs will be organising the festival which will run until October 11.

Theatre troupes from different districts will perform everyday at 7pm during the festival. The venues for drama staging are the Main Auditorium of National Theatre Hall, Experimental Theatre Hall, Studio Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at Segunbagicha and the Nilima Ibrahim platform of Mahila Samity’s Building at Baily Road. Cultural Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will be present as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Liaquat Ali Lucky, president of BGTF will preside over the ceremony in the presence of special guests who will be thespians Ramendu Mazumdar and Ataur Rahman. Akhtaruzzaman, secretary general of BGTF will deliver the welcome speech. At least two dramas will be staged each day during the festival. On the opening day Habiganj’s troupe Jibon Shanket will present their drama Jyotishonghita while Sirajganj’s Natyalok will perform “Naari Nosimon.”
