Rezaun Nabi was born in Dhaka in 1956. Although he grew up in urban Dhaka, his works are devoid of urbanisation. He completed his graduation and post graduation from the Drawing and Paintings Department of the Institute of Fine Arts (now the Faculty of Fine Arts) of Dhaka University in 1880 and 1983 respectively.

His first art exhibition was held in the Netherlands in 1988. He was awarded for his artworks on several occasions.

Nabi’s space in his artworks is colour-sensitive. A crystal-like clarity attracts him a lot.

Although he has shown his expertise in water-colour, he wants to connect it with acrylic as well.

Nabi has an innate ability to perceive colours through almost a childlike perception. He did not express any sickness or the likeness of any ill mind through his artworks.

His contemplation for nature has kept his thirst for seeking beauty alive. He is linked to children’s art and other activities both as part of his profession and obsession.

His ventures into the unknown depths of colour have made him realise that the expressions within one’s emotions are depicted through expressive colours. Sound is made where colours touch white space, and different colours form different sounds.
