Two people including a bank official were killed in separate road accidents on Kushtia-Rajbari highway in Kushtia on Sunday.



Two people including a bank official were killed in separate road accidents on Kushtia-Rajbari highway in Kushtia on Sunday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Sams Tabrej Likhan, 26, official of a private bank and son of Bashirul Islam of Deshyali Para of Kushtia Sadar upazila and Abdur Rauf, 38.
Debbrata Roy, officer-in-charge of Kushtia Highway Police Station, said Likhan was killed in a collision between his motorbike and a three-wheeler, locally known as Nasiman, near Dabir Mollah Gate on the highway around 6am.
Likhan riding on the bike was going to Dhaka from his home to join office there, he said, adding that the victim was also former joint convener of Bangladesh Chattra League’s Kushtia municipality unit.
In another road accident, mason Rauf was also killed when a speeding bus hit him in front of Kushtia Medical College around 8am, the OC added.
