College student drowns in Chattogram floodwater
An 18-year-old college student drowned in floodwater at Islamia Haat Badamtal in Hathazari upazila on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Nipa Palit, daughter of Uttam Palit of the upazila and a 2nd year student of Hathazari Government College.
Gazi Shafiul Azim, councilor of ward no 1 Hathazari municipality, confirmed the death.
Abu Taleb, brother of Nipa and a lecturer of Hathazari Government College, said Nipa fell into a drain while going to her college to appear an examination in the morning.
Later, local people recovered her body after some time.
Different areas of the port city was submerged due to torrential rains for the last several days, making it difficult for people to move from one place to another.
