Young businessman goes missing as boat sinks at Raozan

A young businessman and entrepreneur from Chattogram went missing on Monday evening.



A young businessman and entrepreneur from Chattogram went missing after a boat carrying him sank in a branch canal of Halda river on Monday (August 7) evening.

The incident happened when Shahed Hossain Babu, 35, went to inspect the condition of his fisheries farm at Raozan upazila in the district amid heavy flooding.

Confirming the incident, local UP member Kausarul Alam said Shahed went to inspect the condition of his fisheries farm at Raozan upazila which is under heavy flooding. After inspecting his farm, he along with four others was returning to the coast by a boat. In the meantime, the boat clashed with a bridge and sank instantly.

Shahed went missing in the strong current although four others managed to swim ashore.

On information, fire service, police and locals launched a joint search operation to get Shahed.
