50MW solar power plant to be set up in Dimla

A consortium consisting of three private entrepreneurs is going to set up a 50 MW solar power plant on build own operate (BOO) basis in Dimla upazila of Nilphamari.



A consortium consisting of three private entrepreneurs is going to set up a 50 MW solar power plant on build own operate (BOO) basis in Dimla upazila of Nilphamari.

A total of one thousand 732 crore 8 lakh taka will be spent to buy electricity from this power plant for a period of 20 years.

To ensure universal electricity service and energy security, the government has given special importance to the development and expansion of renewable energy sector. The Power Division has taken up a solar power development program in a bid to generate electricity from the renewable energy sector. It encourages private sector participation.

The consortium comprising ASK New Energy Company Limited, AJ Power Company Limited and ATN Solutions Limited has submitted a proposal to the Power Division to set up a 50MW (AC) solar power plant in Dimla as IPP on BOO basis. They will carry out all the expenses of the project including land purchase, construction of transmission lines and sub-stations under its own management.
