Dhaka, Sept 21 -- At least four people including three members of a family were died of electric shock as a live electric wire tore off amid storm and fell on a watery road in the capital's Mirpur area on Thursday night.

The identities of the deceased could not be ascertained immediately. The incident happened in front of Dhaka Commerce College in Mirpur.

Locals said five people were injured due to the electrocution around 10 pm. The accident occurred when a live electric wire tore off and fell on a watery road, a spurce said. It was raining amid gusty winds. 

Later, they were rescued and taken to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared four of them dead.

The bodies were kept at the hospital morgue, said Jashim Uddin Mollah, deputy commissioner of DMP (Mirpur). - UNB
