Three killed in Sylhet road accident

Three people were killed and two others injured when a private car hit an electricity pole in Jaintapur upazila of the district this morning.

 
The accident occurred in Bagersarak area on the Sylhet-Tamabil road around 10.00 am when a Jaflong-bound private car hit a roadside electric pole as its driver lost control over the vehicle, leaving five passengers of the car critically injured, said Abul Bashar Md Badruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jaintiapur Police Station.
 
Two injured were taken to Jaintiapur Upazila Health Complex, where the duty doctor declared them dead. Three others were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where one of them succumbed to his injuries, the OC said.
 
The identities of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately, he added.
