Man dies in Ishwardi train accident

A man was killed after being run over by a train in front of Government Nazim Uddin High School near Ishwardi, Railway Junction of the district this morning.


The deceased was Selim Hossain, 50, son of late Ramjam Ali, a resident of Purba Tengri Eidgah Road area of Ishwardi Municipality.

The incident took place around 9 am when Madhumoti Express train hit Selim while he was crossing the rail track. 

Later, locals rescued him and rushed him to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex where he succumbed to his injuries, reports BSS. 

Iswardi Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaur Rahman confirmed the incident.
