BASA gets new president, secretary general

Kaniz Moula, Secretary of the Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat and Babul Miah, Additional Secretary of Planning Commission, have been elected president and secretary general, respectively, of the Bangladesh Administration Service Association (BASA).


The decision was made during a meeting held at the BIAM Auditorium in the capital on Sunday night, according to a press release from the organisation.

Besides, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Chairman Md Fazlur Rahman has been elected as treasurer of the new committee.

Secretary of the Food Ministry, Md Firoz Sarkar and Dhaka Divisional Commissioner Sharf Uddin Ahmed Choudhury have been elected vice-presidents.

Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Md Moniruzzaman Mia has been appointed deputy treasurer.

Joint secretaries AKM Hafizullah Khan Liton of the Local Government Division and Nurjahan Khanam of the Finance Division have been elected joint general secretaries.

The Bangladesh Administrative Service Association said the names of the remaining members of the 52-member committee would be announced soon, reports UNB.
