Patuakhali: Green chillies are being sold at the rate of Tk 300 per kg in Kalapara of Patuakhali. Which was sold two days ago for 160 taka. The sudden increase in the price of green chillies by 140 taka per kg for no reason has raised the eyebrows of many. According to many buyers, dealers have increased the price of syndicated raw material on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. However, due to the demands of the sellers, they had to buy at a higher price.

Besides, they mentioned that the price has increased due to the sudden increase in the cost of transportation.

A buyer named Shanto said that he gets upset when he goes to the market. The green chili that I bought two days ago at 160 taka per kg has increased to 300 taka in two days. The administration should monitor the market.

Another customer, Shahidul, said that it is like madness has started. Ginger, green chillies are now being sold at double the price than before.

The seller Sobhan said that he had to buy at a higher price. So it is being sold at a higher price. - Gofran Biswas Palash
