Dr. Malek inaugurates 38th National Badminton Championship

Dhaka, 8 Oct - The 38th National Badminton Champioship-2023, organised by the Bangladesh Badminton Federation (BBF), kicked off today.

Dr. Abdul Malek, chief information commissioner and president of the BBF,
inaugurated the event at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium, adjacent to
Bangabandhu National Stadium Complex.

Anchored by the BBF's General Secretary Alamgir Hossain, its Vice-Presidents
Jobaidur Rahman Rana, Amir Hossain Bahar and Kamrunnahar Dana, joint-
secretaries Didarul Alam and Rasel Kabir Sumon and treasurer Jahirul Islam
Sapan were present in the inauguration ceremony.

A total of 345 shuttlers including 280 male and 65 female from 81 teams (62
districts, seven divisions, three educational boards, six universities,
Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Police and Bangladesh Ansar) are participating in
the meet this year.

The BBF also gave the medal winners of Badminton South Asia Under-17 and
Under-15 teams a reception and rewarded them with prize money from this
inauguration ceremony.

The junior shuttlers won three gold, two silver and four bronze medals in
that tournament.
