Wahidul Islam made Rupali Bank CEO

Dhaka, Dec 14 -Md. Wahidul Islam has been appointed as the Managing Director and CEO of state-owned Rupali Bank PLC.
He has served as the Deputy Managing Director of Sonali Bank until now. The Financial Institutions Division (FID) of the Ministry of Finance recently issued a notification in this regard.
The notification signed by Joint Secretary Meenakshi Barman said that he has been appointed on a contract for 3 years from the date of joining.
Md. Wahidul Islam joined the Rupali Bank in 1998 as a senior officer. Later, he was promoted and served as the manager of various important branches of the bank.
After that, while he was the General Manager, he worked efficiently in different important departments of the bank. After being transferred to Sonali Bank, he was finally given the responsibility of the Deputy Managing Director at the bank (Sonali Bank).
However, during the previous government, he joined the Bangabandhu Engineering Council. Currently, he is the 1st Vice President of the organization. - UNB
