BRAC Bank promotes M. Masud Rana FCA to Addl MD

Dhaka, Wednesday, 30 July 2025: BRAC Bank has announced the promotion of M. Masud Rana FCA, currently serving as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, to the position of Additional Managing Director (AMD) of the bank, effective August 1, 2025.

Masud Rana joined BRAC Bank in October 2019 and has since been instrumental in driving financial strategy, governance, and operational excellence. With more than 29 years of professional experience spanning public accounting, textile, pharmaceutical, and banking sectors, he has emerged as a key figure in the bank’s journey of innovation, sustainability, and inclusiveness.

BRAC Bank’s Managing Director and CEO (Current Charge), Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, along with the entire team, congratulated Rana on his promotion, stating: “We are confident that in his new role as AMD, Rana will continue to contribute meaningfully to our mission of becoming the most trusted, innovative and inclusive bank in Bangladesh.”

“This promotion is not only a recognition of his consistent leadership performance but also a reaffirmation of our bank’s commitment to nurturing homegrown leadership capable of guiding the bank into the future,” added Khan.

Rana began his career at SF Ahmed and Co. and has held senior positions at BEXIMCO Garments and Textile Division, Sanofi-Aventis, Standard Chartered Bangladesh – where he was eventually appointed CFO - and Dhaka Bank, where he also served as CFO.

His strategic foresight, deep knowledge, and strong ethical foundation have been widely acknowledged across industries.

He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and an alumnus of the University of Dhaka, where he completed his Honours and Master’s in Accounting. – Press release
