Bangladesh has expressed optimism that any border-related disputes with India can be resolved through peaceful dialogue, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the existing Land Boundary Agreement between the two countries.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) underscored the government's firm belief that all issues should be settled through constructive communication and within the framework of current bilateral agreements, aiming to maintain peace and stability along the border.

The MoFA further announced that it has requested a comprehensive report from relevant ministries and agencies concerning recent tensions at the Bangladesh-India border in Chapainawabganj.

According to reports, three Bangladeshi nationals were injured in a clash with Indian citizens on Saturday near the zero line at the Chouka border in Shibganj upazila, Chapainawabganj. The incident has reportedly raised tensions in the region.

Earlier, on January 7, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) initiated the construction of a barbed wire fence along the zero line at the Chouka border, prompting an immediate response from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and contributing to the escalation of the situation.
