33 Rohingyas Arrested in Bandarban for Illegal Border Crossing

A total of 33 Rohingya nationals were apprehended early today in the Alikadam area of Bandarban for illegally entering Bangladesh. The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained them after receiving a tip-off about their movement across the border.


According to BGB Naik Subedar Abdur Razzak, a patrol team carried out a raid at the Amtali Asrayan Project Office in Sadar Union and successfully arrested the group. The detainees, who include 9 women, 10 men, and 14 children, are believed to be citizens of Myanmar, authorities confirmed.

The BGB has since taken the group into custody, and investigations are underway.
