
The price of gold in Bangladesh has been reduced by Tk 5,482 per bhori, bringing the rate of 22-carat gold down to Tk 229,373, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
In a statement issued on Saturday morning, BAJUS said the adjustment was made due to a decline in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market. The new rates came into effect at 10:00am.
Under the revised structure, the price of 21-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 5,249 per bhori to Tk 218,933.
The price of 18-carat gold has been cut by Tk 4,490 per bhori to Tk 187,674, while traditional gold is now priced at Tk 152,857 per bhori after a reduction of Tk 3,616.
BAJUS last adjusted gold prices on June 2, when it reduced the 22-carat rate by Tk 3,266 per bhori to Tk 234,855.
So far in 2026, gold prices in the country have been revised 71 times—37 times upward and 34 times downward.
Alongside gold, BAJUS also reduced silver prices. The price of 22-carat silver has been cut by Tk 408 per bhori to Tk 5,249.
Similarly, 21-carat silver now costs Tk 4,957 per bhori, while 18-carat silver has dropped to Tk 4,257 per bhori after a Tk 350 reduction.
Traditional silver has been reduced by Tk 233 per bhori to Tk 3,441.
Silver prices have been adjusted 42 times so far this year, with 22 increases and 20 decreases.
