1st CFS International Conference Held at BUP on Sunday.



Dhaka, 20 May 2026: The Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies (FSSS) of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) successfully organised the “1st CFS International Conference” on 19 and 20 May 2026 at the university’s Shadhinota Auditorium. 

The conference, titled “National Security of South Asia in the Context of the Emerging World Order,” brought together renowned academicians, researchers, policymakers, and security experts from home and abroad.

The conference featured constructive discussions and research-based exchanges on regional and global security challenges. The keynote speakers included Dr Pramod Jaiswal from Nepal, Subhashini Abeyasinghe from Sri Lanka, Dr Salma Malik fromPakistan, and Dr Greg Simons from Sweden. Distinguished professors and researchers from various universities and research institutions in Bangladesh also participated in the conference.

The Honourable Speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikrom, MP, attended the event as the Chief Guest. In his speech, the Chief Guest emphasised the importance of regional cooperation, strategic dialogue, and research- based kn ledge sharing to ensure peace, stability, and security in South Asia amid the changing global landscape.

The conference was also attended by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Major General Md Mahbub-ul Alam, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, MPhil, PhD, deans of different faculties, senior officials, faculty members, researchers, students, and invited guests. 

The two-day conference cr eated a vibrant platform for academic and policy-oriented discussions through several technical sessions, panel discussions, and research paper presentations. – Press release
