The 22nd edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival is scheduled to kick off on January 20 next year. Even though it's two months away, the nine-day film festival is creating excitement due to organizers unveiling a series of unexpected announcements.

Last week, the organizers of the festival revealed that the acclaimed Iranian Director Majid Majidi and Chinese film expert Dr. Shi Chuan will be hosting masterclasses during the upcoming film festival. It has now been revealed that Anjan Dutt, the well-known musician, filmmaker, and actor from West Bengal, will also be leading a masterclass on January 27 as part of the festival's lineup.

On Monday, the official page of the Dhaka International Film Festival, organized by the Rainbow Film Society, released the latest details. The masterclass featuring Anjan Dutt will be conducted by Bangladeshi film critic Bidhan Rebeiro at the Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Auditorium, the primary venue of the Bangladesh National Museum.

Since 1992, the Rainbow Film Society has consistently hosted this film festival, guided by the motto of 'Aesthetic Films, Mindful Audience, and Enlightened Society.' The 2024 edition is set to showcase around 250 films from 75 countries across 10 categories.
