Nine players share lead after 2nd round in rating chess

Dhaka, 20 April  - Nine players are sharing lead in the points table with maximum two points after the second round of Invitational International Rating Chess tournament now being held at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.

They are Anata Choudhury, Candidate Master Sharif Hossain, FIDE Master Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, Candidate Master Manon Reja Neer, FIDE Master Mohammad Javed, Jabed Al Azad, Swarnavo Choudhury, Masum Hossain and Mukitul Islam Ripon.

Seven players are sharing the second position with 1.5 points. They are FIDE Master Khandaker Aminul, FIDE Master Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, Candidate Master Mohammad Jamal Uddin, Abzid Rahman, Abu Hanif, Mihir Lal Das and Mohammad Nasim Hossain Bhuiyan.

The second round games were held Wednesday with Masum beat
International Master Mohammad Minhaz Uddin, Anata beat Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan, Hanif split point with FM Aminul, CM Sharif beat Avik Sarker, FM Nasir beat Sariatullah, CM Neer beat Ariful Amin, Mihir split point with Abzid, FM Javed beat Kazi Zarin Tasnim, Ripon beat CM Shawket Bin Osman Shaon, Jabed beat Sk.

Rashedul Hasan, Swarnavo beat Ashiya Sultana, FM Mahfuz beat Tahmidul Haque, CM Jamal beat CM Sohel Chowdhury and Nasim beat MM Zahirul Islam.


The third round games start tomorrow (Thursday) from 2 pm at the same venue.
