Recently I wrote an article under the caption “Good Morning Dhaka” which published in the GreenWatch Dhaka. In the article I wrote about some notable events/incidents happened in Dhaka. I am glad that some of my regular readers liked my write-up and personally gave me some suggestions. True, I have been writing articles, stories, poem, etc. for the last several years but I am yet to become a paid/commercial writer; I write just for my passion in the art of writing. I got some recognition for my writings too. Of course there were so many crest and trough on my long journey through my passion of writing. I am grateful to many people including some Editors who extended encouragement and support to continue my involvement in writing.
Good Morning Cat
As I write on my own wish, I do not take much care to earn name and fame through writing; I always try to cover interesting topics and subjects in my articles, from humor to literature plus disciplines of science and technology on national and international perspective. I believe in respecting peoples’ expectations and sentiments. I take keen interest to protect the interest of my own country and people without maintaining any differences. I trust that perpetuation of moral values and patriotism should be a prime task for the educated ones.
I believe that an article sees the morning’s light on merit after being passed by the editor or the panel of editors. Unfortunately, a number of newspapers and weeklies had to cease
publishing their print edition as the aftermath of COVID pandemic and subsequent global economic recession. Now, several newspapers are running their online editions. Thanks Heaven that our national newspapers haven’t yet imposed subscription, but even in the United Kingdome and the United States, leading newspapers introduced subscription charges for accessing the e-papers.
One of the most expected wish of mine is to get my article published immediately after I finish my write-up. In this regard I would like to mention the name of the online portal, the ‘GREENWATCH Dhaka’ and its respectable Editor and accomplished journalist Mostafa Kamal Majumder who not only encourages me but publishes my article soon after it reaches to his desk.
To get back to the beginning, I have forgotten to enlist an interesting story in my news lines of ‘Good Morning Dhaka’. It happened in the night of the Eid-ul Fitr. Sometime around 11:30 pm, I heard a cat’s calling at the door. When I opened the door, I saw a cat calling meow meow. Usually no cat or dog is allowed to climb stairs to reach the upper floors. But the cat somehow managed. I understood that the cat is asking for some food. Well, instantly I could not find some food around hand but I gave the cat some Cheese biscuit. I thought that it will taste delicious but the cat rejected it. Then I collected some rice and chicken from the refrigerator and served it on a paper plate to the cat. To my utter surprise, the cat took the rice and said meow, perhaps as a sign of ‘thank you’. I bade farewell to the cat wondering the cat might have a strong ‘Bangali-ism’ in mind, so liked rice (bhat).
One would find so many stray dogs and cats in one’s locality wandering around. They hardly find any food even in the garbage/dustbins. On the other hand, their population is also increasing and in some places the stray dogs are getting violent. Perhaps members of the general public should give some foods to these stray dogs and cats.
Well, the Titas has been repairing the leakage of the gas pipe line and controlled the gas smell. Still, Dhaka residents have been advised to take necessary precautions when using their gas stoves; asked to open the kitchen doors and windows before igniting their gas stoves.
In news Line: 7 of my article ‘Good Morning Dhaka’ I wrote about my best friend’s going to Cox’s Bazar but no news of return. Thanks God, the friend contacted me who got sick but now well.
