Recently, I took part in a rehabilitation treatment, after my eye operations. The duration of this process lies between 4-6 weeks. In Germany it’s called REHA.
Rather than medical treatment, some other programs are also offered, like painting, Handykrafts, swimming, walking, cooking to make together to have fun with others.
Basket weaving in Reha as creativity. Art therapy can also be an effective method for reducing stress.
Rehabilitation addresses the impact of a health condition on a person’s everyday life by optimizing their functioning and reducing their experience of disability. Rehabilitation expands the focus of health beyond preventative and curative care to ensure people with a health condition can remain as independent as possible and participate in education, work and meaningful life roles.
The German health system is characterized by statutory health insurance – the law obliges all people (up to a certain income) to have health insurance. This statutory health insurance is based on the principle of social solidarity. - The goal of Reha is: "Reha vor Rente": the explicit aim of rehabilitation medical care is to enable patients of working age to heal so that they can return to work (and not become retired).
Usually, the patients are getting here individual room like hotel, daily regular meal, health checks, weekend excursions, and different treatments methods and activities.
Each patient receives the best possible care in the rehabilitation facility and is in safe hands with the various people in charge. There are therapists, counselors, doctors and other professionals who look after the clients when necessary.
Are German Rehabilitation Centers the best in the world?, yes.
Care for severely ill patients. Rehabilitation Centers often provide treatment for patients who cannot service themselves. The person who accompanies the patient can live with him/her or separately, at the hotel. The accompanying person will not have to worry about anything. Severely ill people are supervised and cared for by specially trained medical personnel.
The healthcare system is equipped with High-Tech system.
It is based on four basic principles:
Principle of solidarity: Everyone has an equal right to receive medical assistance, as long as one is covered by statutory insurance and regardless of income and premium levels. Premiums are income-based, so higher income earners help subsidise healthcare for lower income earners. However, and to ensure a fair system, maximum premiums are calculated according to a percentage scale and have an income threshold (Beitragsbemessungsgrenze), which applies to anyone who earns above the threshold.
Rehabilitation is a process in which we improve a person disability by a particular therapy or giving him a special treatment or environment of better facility so he can recover well and in a proper way. Owing to any accident a person lost his temper, it may be cause of injury or disease. So for getting it back in natural life a treatment is needed and that treatment is called rehabilitation or rehab.
The average price of Rehabilitation procedures in Germany is €1132, the minimum price is €9, and the maximum price is €10219.
Background of this system: health insurance was introduced across Germany in 1883 with the objective of providing medical cover to all workers. Insured workers had the right to receive free medical treatment and drugs, as well as other benefits such as sickness pay and funeral allowances. Although initially only 10 per cent of the German population was insured, today that figure has gone up to 97 per cent.
The expression "German quality" is known worldwide as an indicator of high standards. In this country, everything is done in the best possible way. People with the most complex diseases, namely cardiological, oncological, neurological and others, are successfully treated here.
KUR: Germany is likely the only country in the world where struggling parents are legally entitled to a KUR; parents can head to a health retreat for about three weeks, every four years. According to a March 2023 report in the UK-based news website BBC Future, a Kur is commonly prescribed by a doctor, and primarily funded by insurance. Most significantly, it’s seen as a preventative measure to stop mild problems from expanding into worse ones.
German, Greek, and Austrian centers are top rated rehab facilities in Western Europe. They provide a wide range of recovery procedures for the therapy of different health conditions.
