Jeddah, 23 January 2024 - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) follows with great concern the developments in the Middle East region, the resulting serious repercussions, and the violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of some OIC Member States.

In line with the principles and objectives enshrined in the OIC and the UN Charters and international norms, which call for respect for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Member States and the principles of good neighborliness, the General Secretariat renews the OIC firm position in supporting the unity, independence, and sovereignty of Iraq and all Member States over all their lands.

In light of the developments in the region, the OIC Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, calls for all efforts to be exerted in order for peace to prevail in the region and for its states to enjoy security, peace, stability, and prosperity. – OIC News
