Allegation of taking Tk 3cr for a DC post: Probe body formed

The government has formed a two-member committee to look into the allegation brought against two secretaries of the Public Administration Ministry of taking a cash cheque worth Tk 3 crore for the posting of a deputy commissioner.


Headed by Md Rezaul Maksud Zahedi, additional secretary of the Public Administration Ministry, the committee has been asked to submit its report within three working days to the senior secretary of the Public Administration Ministry.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.

According to the allegation, a report was published in a daily Kalbela with the title “DC posting after taking Tk 3 crore cash cheque” on Tuesday.

According to the report, the cheque was found from the office room of a joint secretary, identified as Zia Uddin, of the Public Administration Ministry. A businessperson identified as Mirza Sabed Ali of Kurigram district, provided the cheque to the secretary.

A script was found with the cheque with five names.
