Chief Justice, Appellate Division judges meet President

The newly appointed Chief Justice informs the President that all benches in both divisions of SC have been re-organized



Dhaka, Aug 18 - The newly appointed Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed, leading the newly appointed four judges of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, met with President Mohammed Sahabuddin today.

The judges are : Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury, Justice Syed Md. Ziaul Karim, Justice Md. Rezaul Haque, and Justice S. M. Emdadul Hoque.

During the meeting, the Chief Justice informed the President about the overall activities of the Supreme Court. He mentioned that all benches in both divisions of the Supreme Court have been reorganised.

Congratulating the newly appointed Chief Justice and the new judges of the Appellate Division, the President expressed hope that under the leadership of the Chief Justice, the Supreme Court will take necessary steps to ensure that the public receives prompt justice.

The President also expressed hope that necessary measures would be taken to reduce case backlogs.

Present at the meeting were Secretary of the President’s Office Nasimul Ghani, Military Secretary Major General Mohammad Adil Chowdhury, and Press Secretary Md. Joynal Abedin.-UNB
