Hall provost among 15 sued over lynching Tofazzal in DU hall

A total of 15 people, including Dhaka University’s Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall provost Professor Muhammad Masum have been sued over lynching Tofazzal inside the hall suspecting him as thief.

Tofazzal’s cousin Asma Akter filed the case with court of Dhaka’s Metropolitan Magistrate Md Aktaruzzaman on Wednesday.

As there is another case with Shahbagh Police Station, the investigation procedure of this case will remain adjourned for the time being.

On September 18, a man named Tofazzal died after being beaten up mercilessly several times bysome students at Dhaka Uuniversity's Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall. Tofazzal was beaten upsuspecting him thief.

Earlier, the DU authorities filed a murder case with Shahbagh Police Station in connection with the incident. - Special Correspondent
