Shakib has already missed the match against India sustaining an injury.

The World Cup campaign has not been so good for Bangladesh so far. The Tigers went into back-foot after losing three out of their first four games in the tournament.

The batting department consistently failed to get enough runs. It also learned that there has been created a distance between head coach Chandika Hathurusingha and captain Shakib Al Hasan. Now, injury concerns added to that.

Shakib has already missed the match against India sustaining an injury.

Meanwhile, fast bowler Taskin Ahmed is playing in the World Cup with a lite injury. His shoulder injury was back during the match against Afghanistan. However, he continued playing but did not complete his bowling quota in the further matches.

He bowled just six overs against Afghanistan and England and eight overs against New Zealand. He then missed out against the important game against India. Now, he may also miss the next match against South Africa in Mumbai on Tuesday.

A source said Taskin will have to go out of the field for around two months if he undergoes surgery as per his condition. However, the team management will not go in that way for the time being.

Earlier, team management did not say anything after getting a scan report on Taskin's injury in Pune.
