Saifuddin brilliance puts Bangladesh in Hong Kong Sixes semis

Dhaka, 2 Nov - Mohammad Saifuddin came up with a brilliant allround performance to help Bangladesh move to the semi-final of the Hong Kong International Sixes, beating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 18 runs on DLS method today.

Opting to bat first, Bangladesh put on 111-1 in the stipulated six overs with Saifuddin hammering 36 off nine balls, an innings studded with five sixes and one four.

Jishan Ahmed made 17 ball-34 while Abdullah Al Mamun scored 31 off 11 to complement Saifuddin.

The UAE reached 43-3 in 3.2 overs before the bad light brought a premature an end to the game. By this time, Bangladesh were ahead of 18 runs on DLS method. Saifuddin took two wickets out of fallen three.

In the first match, Bangladesh, which are being led by Yasir Ali Chowdhury Rabbi beat Oman before conceding defeat to Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka in the semifinal tomorrow. Apart from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka also beat Nepal for a place in the last four stage.
