Harare, 17 Dec  - The first one-day international between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan in Harare on Tuesday was called off due to rain after the hosts made 44 for five in 9.2 overs.

Rain had delayed the start of the first of three ODI internationals, and when play did start at 1400 local time (1200 GMT) the game was reduced to a 28-over contest.

However, less than one hour later, rain forced the match to be called off and declared a "no result". The teams meet again on Thursday and Saturday.
