349 held in 24-hour crackdown across Dhaka

Police arrested 349 people and filed 43 cases during a 24-hour operation across the capital.


According to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the arrests were made during routine raids conducted in different police precincts across the city.

Police also seized 3,356 yaba tablets, 14.52 kg of cannabis, 99 bottles of foreign liquor, 63 mobile phones, one passport, four knives, 80 SIM cards, five mobile chargers and two multi-plugs during the operation.

Among those detained, 93 were arrested in Mirpur Division, 58 in Tejgaon, 36 in Gulshan, 35 in Wari, 32 in Uttara, 31 in Ramna, 29 in Motijheel, 19 in Lalbagh, 14 by the Detective Branch (DB) and two by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit.

Police said legal proceedings against the detainees were underway, reports BSS.
