Tipu-Prity murder: Musa brought back home

Sumon Sikder alias Musa, alleged coordinator in the killing of former General Secretary of Motijheel Thana unit of Awami League Jahidul Islam Tipu and student Samia Afran Prity, has been brought back from Oman.
He was brought back home around 10.50am on Thursday (June 9).
National Central Bureau (NCB) Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Mohiul Islam confirmed the news.
He said, “After Bangladesh Police provided information to Oman Police and the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) about Musa, Interpol confirmed the arrest recently.”
“Later, we contacted Oman police and completed the formal procedure to bring him back to the country”, he said.
Earlier, a team of Bangladesh Police went to Oman to bring back him.
On March 24, two people including Jahidul Islam Tipu were shot dead in Shahjahanpur area of the capital. Another deceased is Samia Afran Prity, a student, who was passing the area on a rickshaw.
According to sources, miscreants opened fire when Jahid was returning to his Shahjahanpur residence in a car. Jahidul’s driver also sustained bullet wounds.
All the three injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctors declared two dead.
