2 SSC examinees stabbed to death in Patuakhali

Two SSC examinees were stabbed to death on Wednesday afternoon while another was injured in an attack carried out by members of a youth gang in Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali. 

There was a farewell ceremony for the SSC students at Indrakul Secondary School. On the way home after the programme, the students of Grade IX attacked the three students on a bridge located on the south side of the school around 4:00 pm over a trivial matter, police said. 

The deceased were Nafees, 16, and Maruf, 15, both of them succumbed to injuries while being taken to a hospital. They were declared dead upon arrival at the Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital by doctors.

Baupal Police Station Officer-in-charge  Al Mamun said police were sent to the hospital after receiving information. “Several policemen, including myself, are stationed at the spot. Efforts are on to arrest the attackers.”

Local UP Chairman Anwar Hossain Bachchu said, "I have heard the news. Two students, Nafees and Maruf, died while being taken to a hospital in Barishal. The injured student Siam, 15, is undergoing treatment at Bauphal Hospital, reports UNB.
