A Rohingya leader was shot to death by miscreants at Palongkhali camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar.



A Rohingya leader was shot to death by miscreants at Palongkhali camp in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
The deceased was identified as Rawshan Ali, 55, son of late Jalal Ahmed. He was a sub-boatman of Ukhiya Balukhali Camp no 13.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhiya Police Station Sheikh Mohammad Ali confirmed the matter around 11pm on Saturday (April 15).
Quoting eyewitnesses, the OC said that Rawshan went out to work as per his routine on Saturday when some miscreants fired two rounds of bullet at him. They also stabbed him in the stomach multiple times before fleeing the scene. Rawshan died on the spot.
Police are trying to bring the culprits involved in the incident under the purview of law, he added.
