Laxmipur, Sept 14 - A 22-year-old woman and her 50-year-old father were stabbed to death allegedly by her husband at Charkalakopa village in Ramgati upazila of Laxmipur district on Wednesday night.

The deceased were identified as Rasheda Begum, wife of Md Sumon, and Badsha Mia, Rasheda’s father.

Quoting local people, Mohammad Saifuddin Anwar, officer-in-charge of Ramgati Police Station, said Sumon married Rasheda a few years back and since then he would often torture her over domestic dispute.

Rasheda’s father took her back home and got her remarried, without informing Sumon.
