Cash money, gold looted after tieing down owners in Kalapara on Monday night.
Patuakhali: Organized miscreants in Patuakhali's Kalapara looted cash and gold ornaments by tying their hands, feet and faces. The incident took place at Alauddin Mia's house in Salimpur village of Nilganj union of the upazila at around 3 pm on Monday (September 16). The miscreants looted a motorcycle at that time.
Alauddin Mia, the victim house owner, said, 'A group of robbers, numbering 13 members, entered the house at around 3 o'clock in the night. After that, 6/7 members of the bandits entered the house by opening the door bolt through the window and attacked. First, they tied my businessman son Mamun Mia's hands, feet and face. Then I and my wife Amena Begum's hands and feet also tied taka. Later, they looted the house furniture and bed and looted 1 lakh 97 thousand cash, 10 pieces of gold ornaments and valuable papers in the house. '
He also said, 'The bandits carried out these rampages in the house for about 2 hours. At that time, the remaining members of the dacoit group were guarding outside the house.'
Kalapara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ali Ahmed said, one member of the miscreants was arrested with the stolen motorcycle. He said that further legal process is ongoing. - Gofran Palash
