A 13-year-old girl was killed and her mother critically injured after attackers broke into their home in Narsingdi on Monday night.

The victim, Sumona Akter Tithi, was found dead, while her mother, Asma Begum, 40, was initially treated at a local hospital before being transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The attack occurred at the home of Mofazzal Hossain, a tea vendor, near the Shekherchar-Baburhat market in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila.

Mofazzal discovered the gruesome scene when he returned home around 10:30 PM after closing his tea stall. He found his wife and daughter lying in pools of blood in their second-floor room, while his physically disabled child was found unharmed in the bathroom.

Law enforcement, including officers from Sadar Police Station and the district detective branch, have launched an investigation. Authorities are working to determine the motive and identify those responsible for the attack.
