PM Greets Trump on US 250th Independence Day

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended greetings to Donald Trump and the American people on the occasion of the 250th Independence Day of the United States, reaffirming Bangladesh’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

In a letter issued on Saturday, the prime minister conveyed his warm congratulations to President Trump and expressed confidence in the continued progress and prosperity of the United States under his leadership.

Tarique Rahman said the celebration of America’s 250th Independence Day serves as an inspiration to people around the world, reflecting the values of freedom, sacrifice, democracy and the enduring spirit of the American dream.

Describing the United States as a valued friend and important partner in Bangladesh’s democratic and development journey, he noted that relations between the two countries have evolved into a strong and multifaceted partnership over the past five decades.

He said bilateral cooperation now spans key areas including trade and investment, education, defence and people-to-people connectivity.

The prime minister also noted that Bangladesh and the United States have entered a new chapter in bilateral relations, citing progress in trade, energy cooperation and investment since the beginning of this year.

He expressed appreciation for the continued support of the United States in addressing the Rohingya crisis.

Tarique Rahman reaffirmed his government’s commitment to working closely with the US administration to further strengthen cooperation in areas of shared interest.

Concluding the message, the prime minister wished President Trump good health and continued success, and conveyed his best wishes for lasting peace, prosperity and happiness for the American people.
