Bangladesh, Türkiye discuss growing bilateral partnership on ARF sidelines
Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Humaiun Kobir held an impromptu meeting with Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Berris Ekinci on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meetings in Manila of the Philippines on Tuesday.
They had a cordial exchange of views on the growing fraternal partnership between Bangladesh and Türkiye, a senior official told UNB. Newspapers
Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman reached Manila from New York in the afternoon.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is visiting Manila to attend the ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference, the East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, and the ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
He will also meet senior government officials from Indo-Pacific countries, according to the US Department of State.
Marco Rubio’s visit advances a clear US priority: a free and open Indo-Pacific that delivers safety, security, and prosperity for the region and for the American people.
He will use this trip to demonstrate the tangible results of US-ASEAN partnership and to deepen the US comprehensive partnership with the Philippines, according to a press statement, reports UNB.
