Touhid Calls China a Trusted Partner for BD's Growth

Md. Touhid Hossain, the Foreign Affairs Adviser to Bangladesh, has hailed China as a trusted and sincere partner in the country’s development, highlighting Beijing’s long-standing support and contributions to Bangladesh’s progress.


He made these remarks during the “Chinese Culture Night” hosted by the Chinese embassy at a city hotel on Friday evening, as reported in a press release issued by the embassy.

Touhid emphasized that cultural exchange plays a pivotal role in strengthening China-Bangladesh ties, underscoring its importance as both a cornerstone and driving force of the bilateral relationship. He called for deepened cooperation across all sectors as Bangladesh enters a transformative period, aiming to elevate ties to new heights.

China's Ambassador to Bangladesh, Yao Wen, reaffirmed the enduring nature of the China-Bangladesh partnership. He noted that despite changes in domestic or regional dynamics, the relationship has remained resilient and continues to move in the right direction. Yao described the partnership as a vital pillar of regional peace and prosperity.

Ambassador Yao further emphasized that cultural exchange serves as a powerful bridge connecting the people of both nations. He pointed out that the friendship between China and Bangladesh is deeply rooted in the hearts of their citizens, benefiting both countries.

Looking ahead, Ambassador Yao announced that China will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Bangladesh in 2025 by designating it as the "Year of People-to-People Exchange." This initiative aims to further enhance cooperation in culture, education, healthcare, sports, and youth exchanges.

The event was attended by nearly 300 distinguished guests, creating a festive and vibrant atmosphere. The gathering celebrated the achievements of China-Bangladesh cultural exchanges, rejoiced in shared cultural resonance, and expressed optimistic hopes for the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, jointly writing a new chapter in the enduring friendship between the two nations.
