Lutfey Siddiqi, the Special Envoy to Chief Adviser Prof. Muhammad Yunus, called on British entrepreneurs, including those of Bangladeshi origin, to take full advantage of Bangladesh’s sweeping reforms aimed at boosting foreign direct investment (FDI).

During a meeting with a delegation from the UK Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UKBCCI) at the State Guest House Jamuna on Saturday, Siddiqi highlighted the country's efforts to create an investment-friendly environment. "We are open for business and eager to answer your questions. Keep visiting, keep exploring, and if you like what you see, please help us spread the word," he said.

The UKBCCI delegation, led by Chairman Iqbal Ahmed OBE and President M G Moula Mia, is on a three-day visit to Bangladesh. Siddiqi took the opportunity to brief them on recent positive developments, including improvements in exchange rates, foreign reserves, export growth, and port handling efficiencies. He also discussed the government’s commitment to making Bangladesh a more attractive and easier destination for foreign investors.

The Special Envoy addressed several key areas of interest, such as labor reforms, the ready-made garment (RMG) sector, law and order, and the nation’s ongoing reform initiatives. He also expressed deep appreciation for the continued engagement and support from the global Bangladeshi diaspora, which plays a vital role in strengthening ties between the two nations.

Among those present at the meeting were BIDA Chairman Ashik Mahmud Chowdhury, Senior Secretary for SDG Affairs Lamiya Morshed, and UK Parliamentarian Rupa Huq, who all underscored Bangladesh's potential as a prime investment hub.
