The two officials held comprehensive discussions on a range of key issues, including agricultural cooperation, trade and investment opportunities, the financial sector, and the ongoing Rohingya crisis. Hossain highlighted the significant challenges Bangladesh faces in hosting approximately 1.3 million Rohingya refugees and emphasized the need for international collaboration, specifically Canada’s strong support for their safe and sustainable repatriation to Myanmar.
High Commissioner Singh acknowledged these concerns and pledged Canada's full support in addressing the challenges. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the already robust bilateral relationship between the two countries, with particular focus on trade, investment, agriculture, capacity building, skill development, and enhancing people-to-people ties.
