Hossain departed Dhaka this evening for Dubai, where he is accompanying Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. Dr. Yunus is slated to attend the World Government Summit 2025 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
An official from the Foreign Ministry confirmed to BSS that the Foreign Affairs Adviser will then travel to Muscat on February 14 ahead of the conference. Hossain is expected to return to Dhaka on February 18 following the event.
Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is also scheduled to attend the conference in Muscat, which has become a key platform for fostering regional dialogue and cooperation.
Launched by India Foundation in 2016 in Singapore, the Indian Ocean Conference has grown into a leading forum for countries in the region. With participation from 30 nations, it serves as a vital consultative space for discussions on regional security and economic growth.
The conference focuses on bringing together critical states and maritime partners to collaborate on the "Security and Growth for All in the Region" (SAGAR) initiative, aiming to strengthen regional cooperation and promote stability across the Indian Ocean region.
