On Monday, Bangladesh and Australia agreed to strengthen collaboration between Bangladesh’s Technical Training Centres (TTCs) and Australia’s Technical and Further Education (TAFE) system to facilitate mutual recognition of degrees and upgrade Bangladesh's technical education standards. This partnership aims to enhance the mobility of skilled workers between the two nations.

Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Susan Ryle, met with Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss various issues of mutual interest, including trade, investment, migration, and visa facilitation.

“We are working together to strengthen our growing trade and investment ties, support Bangladesh’s development goals, and contribute to a safe and prosperous Indo-Pacific,” said the Australian High Commission in Dhaka.

The Foreign Affairs Adviser also highlighted the urgent need for the international community to act on the repatriation of Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (Rohingyas) to their homeland in Rakhine State. He called for a clear roadmap to begin the process immediately.

In response, the Australian High Commissioner expressed her government’s readiness to collaborate with Bangladesh on the Rohingya issue and provide necessary support for their repatriation, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Adviser congratulated the High Commissioner on her new role and assured her of Bangladesh's support during her tenure.
