Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed his gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for granting a 90-day pause on recently announced reciprocal tariffs.

In a post on X late Wednesday, Prof. Yunus wrote, “Thank you, Mr. President (@POTUS), for responding positively to our request for a 90-day pause on tariffs. We will continue to work with your administration in support of your trade agenda.”

The gesture of thanks follows a formal letter Prof. Yunus sent to President Trump on April 7, requesting a postponement of the 37 percent tariff on Bangladeshi products entering the U.S. market. The temporary suspension, which took effect immediately, is expected to provide much-needed relief for exporters and facilitate ongoing trade discussions.
