Lightning strike kills infant in Rangamati

A three-month-old infant died and five others of the family were wounded after being struck by lightning at Sajek Union under Baghaichhari upazila of the district in early hours of today.
The deceased, Ujjal Chakma, was the son of Nayan Chakma from the Bhaibachhara area of Sajek Union.
The injured are - Pradip Chakma, Maya Rani Chakma, Nijum Chakma, Jerin Chakma, and Reshmi Chakma.
With the help of local residents, the injured were rescued and taken to Khagrachhari Sadar Hospital in the neighboring Khagrachhari district, said Sajek Union Parishad chairman Atulal Chakma, reports BSS.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sajek Police Station Tofazzal Hossain also confirmed the incident.
