Dengue: Two more die, 311 hospitalised

Two dengue patients died while 311 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning.


"During the period, 51 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 40 in Chattogram, 49 in Dhaka division, 48 in Dhaka north city while 73 in Dhaka south, 32 in Khulna, seven in Rajshahi, one in Sylhet and 10 were admitted to different hospitals in Mymensingh," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

This year, the total number of cases rose to 99,295 while 551 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the period, the statement added.

Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue cases, reports UNB.
